From November 5th to 10th, the 6th China International Import Expo (referred to as the “CIIE”) was grandly held in Shanghai. More than 3,400 companies from 128 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. The number of Fortune 500 industry-leading companies and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises was the highest ever. The CIIE has also become the “first choice” for many exhibitors to make their global debut in China.
As a representative of global human resources service providers, Xunsen Human Resources was invited by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Jing’an District, Shanghai, to appear at the CIIE again. With the theme of “Gathering Talents, Inside and Outside the Chain, and Benefiting the World,” it provided exciting services to the guests. Keynote speeches, expert discussions, research report releases, etc., fully demonstrate the service capabilities of Xunsen Human Resources in supporting enterprises to achieve global strategic success through talents under the opportunities of globalization.
Under the guidance of policies such as the One Belt and One Road and dual circulation, more and more Chinese companies are looking overseas, looking forward to replicating the miracle of rapid growth in another world. Especially since in 2023, China has fully opened up and reconnected with the world, and more Chinese companies have put going overseas on their agenda.
In the service trade exhibition area of the China International Import Expo on November 9, at an event with the theme of “Linking the World and Empowering Two-way Development,” Mr. Liu Gangda, Vice President of Asia Pacific of Comson Human Resources, introduced the current challenges and needs of Chinese enterprises in overseas development.
Challenges in the process of globalization of Chinese enterprises
Chinese companies are surging overseas, shifting from exporting “Chinese costs” and “Chinese scale” to the world in the past to exporting “Chinese technology,” “Chinese brands,” and “Chinese experience.” As the level of internationalization increases, Chinese companies face increasing challenges. Talent, compliance, and culture have become the biggest “stumbling blocks” on the road to overseas expansion.
As a top priority for corporate CEOs, overseas talent acquisition capabilities urgently need to keep up with the rapid and ever-changing pace of internationalization of business. Companies need to reconstruct their global recruitment organizational capabilities, which specifically include eight factors (control and operations, consistency with business, talent market insights, employer brand and employee experience, recruitment processes and standards, recruitment channels, technology and data, recruitment skills) and 24 dimensions. This is a rare opportunity to enhance the strategic influence of the HR department in the organization.
Talent empowers corporate globalization strategy
“In the past 10 years, we have supported a large enterprise’s excavators, starters, research institutes, import and export companies, etc., to rapidly improve their global competitiveness,” Mr. Liu Gang said at the 6th China International Import Expo. Xunsen Human Resources’ cross-border business team has cooperated with nearly 300 multinational companies and successfully landed in overseas regions, helping customers to efficiently attract and retain key talents across regions. As the demand for overseas employment by Chinese companies continues to expand, finding suitable international talents is the biggest employment problem faced by companies going overseas. We support clients with HR decisions across geographies, assessing local HR strengths and weaknesses through internal and external HR primary factors and 11 secondary factors.
During the period of accelerated overseas expansion of Chinese enterprises, faced with the new market environment, enterprises need to be deeply rooted in the local market, establish a strong ecosystem, and maintain a high degree of agility in the local market. On the other hand, they also need to adopt a global perspective to manage their global operations. See the world from the perspective of the complexity we face.
Multi-Party Cooperation, all-round win-win
At the Sixth China International Import Expo, five organizations including BIPO, Conex, Zhonghe Group, Caicai.com, and Xunsen Human Resources held a signing ceremony for the “Human Resources Global Service Promotion Center.” It aims to “link the world, empower two-way, and be a landing platform for global services,” and through industry docking and exchanges, relying on the vision of global development and international experience, to more efficiently improve its professional service level.
In the following roundtable forum session, Mr. Liu Gangda, Vice President of the Asia Pacific Region of Comrade Human Resources, said: “Based on Comrade Human Resources’ research, it is found that the future trend of talent recruitment in global enterprises includes four characteristics: mobility, flexibility, diversification, and individuality. With these four characteristics, companies need to rethink their global talent strategies. The key is to improve their insights into overseas talent markets, deepen their understanding of international business scenarios, and improve global human resources management and control.” He said that as a professional human resources professional As a service organization, we should use our global experience and local practices to support our customers in their international voyages.
