Meet Comrise’s Brand Ambassador, Kathy Ireland. Supermodel turned super-mogul and philanthropist Kathy Ireland, is a force to be reckoned with.

Kathy’s rise to paper-girl

When Kathy was growing up, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to pursuing her dreams of having a paper-route at just eight years old. On her very first day, she encountered an agitated man who reprimanded her and said she was doing a “boy’s job”. While this may have led to days where she contemplated quitting, there was no way she was going to let this man take her spark away.

In fact, Kathy continued to be one of the only paper-girls in Santa Barbara, California, and would go above and beyond for her customers, even if it meant leaving the newspaper at their front porch instead of the driveway. This alone would dictate how she motivated her members in her business today. 

From paper-girl to supermodel

Fast-forward to the 1980’s, a modeling agency scouted Kathy which would lead her to a skyrocketing modeling career. Kathy went on to be one of the most well-known models, with several features in Sports Illustrated, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan. However, her inner entrepreneurial spirit was still ablaze as she was ready to dive into new challenges in her career.

From supermodel to super-mogul

In 1993, Kathy had the opportunity to model socks but she had a better idea. Instead, she became a business partner and assisted with the development of the socks, and later went on to launch her company. Even though she faced with criticism along the way, she learned to block out the naysayers and was confident in her vision. 

More than 20 years later, Kathy has built an empire for herself with kathy ireland Worldwide®. With a portfolio of over 20,000 skus including pet-care, furniture, intimate apparel, investment strategies, telemedicine, staffing, and more, Kathy is passionate about partnering with brands that share similar values. In 2021, she became elected into the Licensing International Hall of Fame and is the “highest-ranking women-owned licensing business in American history” according to Women’s Wear Daily.

Philanthropy, Charity & Advocacy

Through the success of Kathy’s empire, she has made it her ultimate mission to assist others in need. She has developed a set of goals to fight against discrimination, promote gender equality and empower women, ensure environmental sustainability, and much more. 

In addition, Kathy serves as Ambassador for several foundations including but not limited to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, 911 for Kids International and The Dream Foundation. Her advocacy and continued support has been able to transform lives across the globe.
