Recruiter Perspective: Global Hiring Best Practices (Q&A)

As experts in talent globalization, we’ve asked one of our Cross Border Recruiter’s to explain her advice to companies looking to hire international talent. What is something unique that Cross Border Services provides compared to other talent solution services?
Cross border has many challenges that regular talent solutions don’t have. However, with Comrise Cross Border Services, our solutions are tailored toward those challenges to provide better results. For example, the companies we work with are from China bringing different business practices compared to the U.S business today. And a big part of that is differences in business culture, process, and expectations. Since we have locations in the United States and China, this gives us an advantage as many global companies have different hiring teams, maybe some of the HR professionals are working here in the United States, while the hiring manager resides in China and vice versa. Because of this, the information that the company has is not matched and they are not on the same page. 

How do you maintain a relationship with the candidates throughout the process?
Our Cross Border relationship requires us to understand the client more so we can coach our candidates and set those expectations of our candidates. We could also select candidates based on their soft skills, personality, and motivation regarding those special requirements for our cross border clients.  Companies that we work with generally require you to have a very clear hiring process. Which means you understand the interview process, timeline, and when the candidate will onboard as well as understanding the budget. The hiring manager has certain expectations for this candidate and it is our job to communicate as to offer the best candidates for the job. 

What advice would you give to companies (on a recruiter level)? 
Make sure all your HR functions are aligned together because if your global hiring is not aligned with your global strategy, it will affect your business plan and the people you hire. I recommend refining that plan as to assure you will be successful. And the great thing is that Comrise works with you to achieve a personalized global hiring plan to help you succeed!
